Chennai, Dec 21 (TruthDive): Dhoom 3, the third venture in Dhoom series hit screens on 20 December 2013 and this time they have roped in Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have reprised their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar. The movie is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and is produced by Aditya Chopra.
Deception point
It all began in the year 1990 in Chicago. Sahir’s (Aamir Khan) father Jacki Shroff who runs the great Indian circus commits suicide as the Chicago bank shuts down their circus. Sahir then avenges father’s death by looting off Chicago bank, crashing their stocks and pitting them in bankruptcy.
As Sahir’s strategy involves magic and deception, the cops fail to catch him in action and that is when Jai and Ali are invited from India as the thief leaves a signature note in Hindi along with his Joker mask. As Jai involves himself closely in case, as usual Ali tries to work his charm with foreign women. Knowing his luck from past, it just never works for him and there seems to be no change now either.
As Jai works his way through to uncover the mystery of Sahir’s magic, he finds out it was all about deception. But that doesn’t prove anything, unless and otherwise he’s caught in the act. Will Jai be able to do so, will Sahir avenge his father’s death, if he does succeed what then? Find out at cinemas near you.
Quirky Quotes
Jacki Shroff: Bhik nahi maangna kabhi, apni izzad apni haath mein hona chahiye
Jacki Shroff: Yeh circus zindagi hai, thu cheen rahi ho ise
Aamir: Maskare ka khel, dhoke ka khel hotha hai jisme audience ko lagtha hai ki jeeth unki ho rahi hai, lekhim jeeththe ham hai.. Hamesha.
Jai (advices Ali): Kaam ka socho, kaamsutra ka nahi
Memoirs
Though Bachchan and Uday’s introduction were cheesy, when the antagonist banker shows up in Cadillac of late 80s it could not have been any more classy.
Aamir is great with his abs and stunts be it on roads or on stage; Kat can really stretch; AB and Uday play the good cop, bad cop AGAIN.
Glitches
The screenplay has scraps of Now you see me and Christopher Nolan’s Prestige. Sahir in his initial robbery leaves a note in Hindi but after Jai’s arrival he simply stops which seems pretty weird for a principled thief.
TidBitz
Aamir and Kat had to go through extensive sessions for their roles. Aamir took a series of Ballet lessons, French technique parkour and aerobatics. Kat too paragliding and singing lessons.
